Holiday Party

I am hosting a "grown up" Holiday party featuring drinks & appetizers.
I need some tips!!!!
If you have any advice on what to do and what NOT to do, I'd love to hear it.
It will be a Saturday night and it will be a large crowd.
The ideas I need......
-types of appetizers (good & bad)
-how to stock my bar
-music...do traditional holiday or regular music
...basically, any advice is welcome!
Thanks!
-Kris

Vodka, Whiskey, mixers, maybe some pre-mixed rocks 'ritas or some pre=mixed mojitos? Also popular.. Hot Chocolate with peppermint schnapps. Peppermint sticks and cinnamon sticks make cute and tasty stirrers.
I have some great appetizer recipes..
Southwestern Pinwheels
• 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
• 1 (4 oz) can black olives, chopped
• 1(4 oz) can green chilies, diced
• 1 small jar roasted red peppers
• 2 green onions, minced
• 3 Tbsp hot pepper sauce (Tabasco, Cholula etc.)
• 1 Tbsp chopped cilantro
• 10 large flour tortillas ( I often use the Spinach flavored ones)
In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, chilies, red peppers, green onions, hot sauce and cilantro. Spread the mixture evenly onto the tortillas. Roll the tortillas up and anchor with toothpicks every inch or so. Refrigerate for at least one hour.
Take the wraps out of the tortillas and slice into 1" rolls. Serve and enjoy. YUM!
(If you like black olives, they’re yummy in this, too)

Easy jimmy dean sausage balls are always a hit and easy toothpick food.

Cheese Ball
• 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened.
• 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 Tbsp Garlic powder
• 1 Tbsp Onion powder
• 1 Tbsp Chili powder
• 1 Tbsp Creole style seasoning
• 1 C shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 C diced, cooked ham
• 1 Tbsp Miracle Whip
Mix all ingredients by hand in a large mixing bowl. For mixture into a ball, wrap in saran wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Hope a couple of these ideas help.
